SMART Goals for Your HealthyYOU Vending Business

SMART Goals for Your HealthyYOU Vending Business

At the beginning of last year, we posted some tips for launching and growing your HealthyYOU Vending business. We recommended setting goals, and then setting deadlines to achieve them. Did you do this? Did you stick with your goals? How successful were you in establishing and growing your healthy vending business this past year? Wherever you are in your healthy vending journey, there’s always room to grow, so we’re sharing some of our favorite goal setting tips to help you propel forward in 2015!

Think SMART
Every journey begins with a single step. Goals help us stay on track, keep focused, and provide measurable results. As an entrepreneur, you’ve probably heard the term “SMART goals” before. SMART is an acronym that stands for:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Relevant
  • Timely

With specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely goals in mind, you can better figure out HOW to achieve them. It’s the difference between throwing a dart blindly or hitting the bulls-eye with precision and focus.

Change your focus
When “I want to make more money” becomes “I am going to increase my revenue by 20 percent” or “I am going to own and place three machines in 2015,” you have a specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely goal to work toward. If you want more happy customers, think about how you can do that: “I will serve my customers better by offering meal deals, frequently restocking my machines, and stocking my machines with proven healthy snack and drink favorites.” (This is where RemotePlusTM Monitoring comes in handy!)

Commit!
All the dreams in the world are just that—dreams—if you don’t take action to achieve your goals. So make it happen:

  1. Set SMART goals. By narrowing your focus, you’re more able to take the steps needed to achieve your healthy vending business goals.
  2. Create a deadline to reach your goals. Make a to do list and cross something off every day for a month. At the end of the month, reevaluate and make a new list, then start working on your new to do list.
  3. Give yourself the same feedback you would give to an employee. Be honest with yourself: are your goals realistic, are you taking measurable steps every day to reach your goals? Ask yourself where you want your business to be this time next year.
